With the Spring Term in full swing, children across Key Stage 2 are beginning to make use of their class sites on a regular basis. In order to save paper and workload, teachers are beginning to use their class sites to upload lesson documentation for the children to use. Using their HP laptops they are using Microsoft Immersive Reader. This excellent resource allows children to listen to the text they are reading and adjust the text speed and background colour to suit their needs. I have found that children find this resource highly beneficial for those who find reading complex texts challenging.

Elsewhere, GLUU is planning a series of topic lessons using Inspire Education (@InspirePrimary) as a stimulus. Already, we have introduced the Year 5s to their new Anglo Saxons unit through a visit to Rudley, an authentic Anglo Saxon town, complete with a diary entry from a little girl filled with topic based vocabulary.  Children were thrilled to use this resource and created some excellent pieces of writing introducing the unit.

In the coming weeks we have plans to work with Years six, four, three and two using Inspire linked to their respective topics.
